Nicolas Bock

Nicolas Bock insegna Storia dell’arte del Medioevo e del Rinascimento all’Università di Losanna. Ha studiato alle Università di Heidelberg e Firenze ed è stato ricercatore presso la Biblioteca Hertziana di Roma. I suoi interessi di studio si incentrano sulla scultura italiana tra XIV e XV secolo, sui rapporti tra arte e liturgia, sulla relazione parola-immagine nei libri a stampa della prima età moderna.

Nicolas Bock is a Senior Lecturer of medieval and early modern art history at the University of Lausanne. He studied art history, history and archeology at the Universities of Heidelberg and Florence. Assistant researcher at the Bibliotheca Hertziana (MPI), Rome. Ph.D. 1997. 2006 visiting professor at the University of Applied Sciences, Frankfurt/Main. 2008/09 Allan W. Clowes Scholar at the National Humanities Center, NC. He focuses on Italian sculpture of the 14th and 15th century, art and liturgy, word-and-image relations and early modern printed books.
