Anthony Luttrell

Anthony Luttrell studied at Oxford, Madrid and Pisa, taught at Swarthmore College and the Universities of Edinburgh, Malta and Padua, and was Assistant Director of the British School at Rome; he has specialized in Mediterranean history, on the history of medieval Malta and, above all, on the history of the Hospitallers of Rhodes. He was awarded the Prix Gustave Schlumberger by the Academie des Inscriptions et Belles-Lettres in 2012.
