Maddalena Signorini

MADDALENA SIGNORINI insegna Paleografia latina e Codicologia all’Università di Roma Tor Vergata. I suoi principali interessi di ricerca riguardano le tematiche relative all’alfabetismo, alla messa per iscritto dei volgari romanzi e, più in generale, della produzione, diffusione e conservazione dei testi volgari. Speciale attenzione ha dedicato alla scrittura e ai manoscritti appartenuti a Francesco Petrarca, e, più recentemente, anche alla biblioteca appartenuta a Giovanni Boccaccio.

MADDALENA SIGNORINI teaches Latin Palaeography and Codicology at the Università of Rome Tor Vergata. Her main research interests focus on literacy, on the strategies in writing the vernaculars, and, more broadly, on the production, the spread, and the preservation of vernacular texts. Special attention has recently been given to the manuscripts owned by Petrarch, and to his library, as well to the one which belonged to Giovanni Boccaccio.
