Paola Vitolo

Paola Vitolo is Associate Professor of History of Medieval Art at the University of Naples Federico II, co-director of “The Medieval Kingdom of Sicily Image Database” (https://kos.aahvs.duke.edu/) and co-PI of the project “Memory and Identity. The reuse, reworking and repurposing of the Medieval sculpture in the Modern Age from historical research to new technology” (https://memid.it/) funded by the Italian Ministry for University and Research. Her research focusses on artistic production in the Late Medieval Period as well as the theme of the “long life” of works of art, with particular attention to the areas of southern Italy. She has been active in the sector of Digital Humanities since 2010, in collaboration with both national and international research institutes as well as the CNR.
