Daniela Melfa

Daniela Melfa is Associate Professor of History and Institutions of Africa at the Department of Political and Social Sciences, University of Catania. A specialist of North African modern history, she published in 2008 her PhD thesis on Italian wine growers in the Tunisian protectorate, while a monograph on the Tunisian Communist Party has been issued in 2019. She was visiting professor/researcher at the École des Hautes Études en Science Sociales (Paris, 2017), the Université 9 Avril (Tunis, 2019) and La Manouba University (Tunis, May-June 2022). She is the former president of the Italian Society for Middle Eastern Studies (2017-19) and vice-president of the Association of African Studies in Italy (2021-22).
