Josef Pauser

Jurist, legal historian, librarian; received his doctorate in 2000 with a thesis on the legal history of gambling at the University of Vienna; since 2004 he has been head of the library of the Austrian Constitutional Court (Dept. 6: Library and Communication). His research focuses on Austrian legal and constitutional history (especially the history of legislation, ‘good policy’), the history of science, books and libraries, and archive and library law. Most recently, together with Martin P. Schennach, he presented an edition of the Tyrolean provincial constitutions of 1526, 1532 and 1573 (Die Tiroler Landesordnungen von 1526, 1532 und  1573. Historische Einführung und Edition, Vienna 2018).
