Wolfgang Kaiser

Wolfgang Kaiser is Professor of Early Modern History at the Université Paris 1 (Panthéon Sorbonne) and directeur d’études at the EHESS, Paris. His research focuses on the social and cultural history of the Mediterranean, mercantile knowledge and practice, history of boundaries and urban conflicts. Recent publications in these fields are the co-edited volumes Gens de passage en Méditerranée, de l’antiquité à l’époque moderne. Procédures de contrôle et d’identification; L’Europe en conflits.
