Cristian Caselli

Cristian Caselli (PhD, 2010) collaborates with the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Seminar für Romanische Philologie, Germany. His research focuses on the Mediterranean in the late Middle Ages, and in particular on the relations between the Italian states and the Ottoman empire. His main publication to date is the critical edition of Nikolaos Sekoundinos’ oration to Alfonso the Magnanimous (Roma: ISIME, 2012), one of the earliest and most detailed humanist writings on the fall of Constantinople to the Turks.
