Jürgen Sarnowsky

Jürgen Sarnowsky, born 1955, studied history, philosophy, and physics at the Free University of Berlin with a PhD on the commentary of Albert of Saxony on the Physics of Aristotle (1985), “Habilitation” on the Teutonic Knights in Prussia (1992), Since 1996 he has been a professor of medieval history at the University of Hamburg, publishing books on the Hospitallers on Rhodes (2001), England in the Middle Ages (2002), and has participated in editions of the 1489/93 statutes of the Hospitallers (2007) and of account books of the Teutonic Knights (2008, 2013). He is a leading pioneer in e-history, especially digital source editions and e-learning.
