Ondřej Jakubec

Ondřej Jakubec is professor of Art History in the early modern period at the Palacký University in Olomouc and Masaryk University in Brno. He specialised in the study of visual culture of early modern period, especially related to issues of art patronage, religious/confessional identity, sepulchral culture, and culture of commemoration (particularly in Central Europe). He is author of the monograph Renesanční epitafy v kultuře umírání a vzpomínání raného novověku [Renaissance Epitaphs in Early Modern Culture of Dying and Remembrance], Praha 2015, and editor of several books on central European visual culture.
