Janna Israel

Janna Israel completed this essay as Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. She is currently completing The Ruins of the Renaissance: Artefacts in Conflict in Early Modern Venice, which derives from the dissertation she completed at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her research has been supported by the American Academy in Rome, the Renaissance Society of America, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Gladys Krieble Delmas Foundation.
