Judith Ostermann is writing her Ph.D. thesis at the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin on the imperial art patronage and visual politics of the Catholic Kings Ferdinand of Aragon and Isabel the Catholic, for which she was awarded several fellowships. As a fellow at the Centro Tedesco di Studi Veneziani she has worked on the tombs of the Venetian doges and memorial strategies in the Serenissima, on which she has two forthcoming articles. In addition, she has published articles on artists’ signatures (with Florian Horsthemke) and on Spanish tombs of the fifteenth and sixteenth century.
