Ernő Marosi

Ernő Marosi is ordinary member of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences since 2001 and professor emeritus at Eötvös Loránd University since 2010. His reasearch focus are Gothic art in Hungary, especially the late Gothic buildings (Saint Elizabeth’s in Kassa/Košice, today Slovakia) and sculptures (mainly the statues from Buda Castle), the modern musealisation and restoration of medieval art. Eminent personality of the medieval art history field, he has written and edited several books on the history of medieval art in Europe and in Hungary as well as historiography of art history.
