Erika Carminati

Having graduated in Humanistic Studies at the University of Bergamo with a dissertation on Iconography and Iconology (supervised by Sonia Maffei) and in Artistic Disciplines at the University of Verona in 2013, with a dissertation on Modern History (supervised by Alessandro Arcangeli), Erika Carminati was awarded her PhD at the University of Padua, jointly with the École Pratique des Hautes Études, Paris, with a thesis on Civic Rituals and Ceremonies in the Venetian Terraferma. The city of Bergamo in the 17th and 18th centuries, supervised by Federico Barbierato, Gian Maria Varanini, Sabine Frommel. She was awarded the 2019 “Angelini” research bursary by the Angelo Mai Library in Bergamo and is working on cultural and political history and the formation of cultural identities, with specific reference to the Venetian Terraferma in the 17th and 18th centuries.
