Elisabeth Claire

Having been awarded her PhD in Performance Studies at New York University, Elizabeth Claire is now Associate Professor of Research in History at the cnrs (Centre national de la recherche scientifique), co-director of the Gender History Research Group (Centre de recherches historiques), and a founding member of the Atelier d’histoire culturelle de la danse (École des hautes études en sciences sociales) in Paris. She publishes regularly on the cultural history of dance, has recently edited a special issue of Clio. Women, Gender, History, 46, 2017: Dancing, and is working on a manuscript about the medical history of the imagination and social dancing at the end of the long 18th century in Europe.
