Leonardo Sernagiotto

Having graduated in Mediaeval History at the University of Padua, Leonardo Sernagiotto specialized in early mediaeval studies with particular reference to Italian society in the Lombard and Carolingian periods. He was awarded his PhD at the University of Trento for work on the Emperor Lothar I (795-855) and a reappraisal of his political actions in the light of new analysis of historical and narrative sources of the Carolingian period. Sernagiotto has also been a guest researcher at the Austrian Academy of Sciences in Vienna and at the University of Hamburg. He currently works in the field of museology and as a journalist specializing in local news.
