Meri Heinonen

Meri Heinonen teaches at the University of Turku. She studies the gendered aspects of medieval German mysticism and the relationships between religious mentors and female mystics under their care. She is currently researching Dominican reform and its impact on reading habits of nuns as reflected in the libraries of female religious houses. With Satu Lidman, Tom Linkinen, and Marjo Kaartinen she co-edited Framing Premodern Desires. Sexual Ideas, Attitudes, and Practices in Europe, published by Amsterdam University Press in 2017.
