Philipp Ther

Philipp Ther è professore di Storia dell’Europa Centrale all’Università di Vienna, dove guida anche il Research Center for the History of Transformations (RECET). Ha pubblicato quattro monografie in inglese: Europe since 1989: A history (Princeton UP 2016; la versione tedesca ha vinto il premio per la saggistica del Leipzig Bookfare); The Dark Side of Nation States: Ethnic Cleansing in Modern Europe (Berghan 2014), e Center Stage: Operatic Culture and Nation Building in 19th Century Central Europe (Purdue UP 2014); The Outsiders: Refugees in Europe since 1492 (Princeton UP 2019). Il suo libro più recente in tedesco è Das andere Ende der Geschichte: Über die Große Transformation (Suhrkamp 2019). Nel 2019 ha vinto il premio Wittgenstein assegnato dall’Austrian Research Fund.
