Fantahun Ayele

Fantahun Ayele is associate professor of history at Bahir Dar University. Born in Gondar, Fantahun received his BA, MA, and PhD degrees from Addis Ababa University. He is the author of The Ethiopian Army: From Victory to Collapse, 1977-1991 (Northwestern University Press, 2014). He also published many scholarly articles and was winner of the second Global Encounters Postdoctoral Fellowship in African Studies (Northwestern University, 2011-2012) and the Fulbright African Scholars Program (2019-2020).
