Jiří Malíř

Jiří Malíř is professor at Masaryk University in Brno. He has led the projects Výzkumné středisko pro dějiny střední Evropy [Centre for Studies in Central European History] (2005-2011) and Dějiny Brna, I-VII (2009-present). He is the editor in chief of the periodical Časopis Matice moravské [Journal of the Moravian Foundation] (2007-present). His research involves modern political and social history, the history of political parties and parliamentarism, Czech-German relations, and the history of Moravia. His publications include Politické strany. Vývoj politických stran a hnutí v českých zemích a Československu 1861-2004, I-II [Political Parties. The Development of Parties and Political Movements in the Czech Lands and Czechoslovakia, 1861-2004, vol. I and II] (2005; ed. with P. Marek); Secularization and the Working Class: The Czech Lands and Central Europe in the Nineteenth Century (2011; ed. with J. Hanuš and L. Fasora); Morava na cestě k občanské společnosti [Moravia on its Way to Civil Society] (2018; with M. Řepa).
