Il lavoro intende evidenziare la problematicità del concetto di Europa e, in subordine, la legittimità di considerare l’islam tra le matrici dell’Europa stessa. Due le questioni analizzate: la definizione del ‘confine’ e il ruolo identitario della religione.

The paper brings into focus the controversial notion of Europe and, subordinately, the legitimacy of considering islam one of the matrices of Europe itself. Two questions are at stake: the meaning of ‘border’ and the role of religion in the making of identity.
