Un nuovo frammento dei Quatre âges de l’homme di Philippe de
Novare tra le carte dell’Archivio di Stato di Milano
The article presents an edition of a hitherto unknown fragment
of Philippe de Novare’s Des quatre temps d’aage d’ome, recently
uncovered in the Fondo Miniature e cimeli of the Archivio di Stato
in Milan. As well as publishing the text, the essay affords the protohistory
of this finding, both studying its relationships with the overall
tradition of the treatise, and analyses the linguistic stratification of
the text, in the light of Old French varieties used in Italy and the
Middle East.
