La frequenza del tema del “viaggio” e le sue variazioni negli scrittori dell’avanguardia storica rumena (e non solo), dal futurismo al surrealismo, è motivata da ragioni che riguardano i fondamenti stessi della visione poetica moderna e la sua struttura più profonda. Tale tema universale si associa infatti fino a identificarsi con l’ossessione principale dei movimenti dell’avanguardia, quella di un dinamismo assoluto e della libertà mai limitata dello spirito e dell’immaginazione, che si traduce in primo luogo in una sorta di “caccia alle immagini”, di tensione a cogliere anche la più piccola possibilità di accostare realtà in sé lontane e di farle proprie.
The frequency with which the theme of the “journey” and its variations occur in the Rumanian historic avant-garde (and not exclusively), from Futurism to Surrealism, is due to motives connected with the very foundations and deep structure of a modern poetic vision. This universal theme is not only related to but actually identified with the principal obsession of all the avantgarde movements: that of absolute dynamism and utterly unlimited freedom of the spirit and of the imagination. This is expressed, in the first place, through a kind of “hunt for images”, and by a tendency to grasp every possible opportunity to juxtapose and link realities that are in no way related and take possession of them.
