Appunti filologici e letterari sul testo a piè di pagina Una rassegna delle varianti relative alle note autoriali dei Mémoires d’outre-tombe di Chateaubriand e una classificazione di questi elementi paratestuali in base a forme, funzioni e temi mostrano come le note, a dispetto della loro marginalità, condensino gli aspetti problematici della ricostruzione testuale di quest’opera dalla complessa genesi e pubblicazione e ne riprendano tanto le tematiche principali quanto i tratti formali peculiari.
The article offers a review of the variants concerning the authorial notes of Chateaubriand’s Mémoires d’outre-tombe and a formal, functional and thematical classification of these paratextual elements. This will prove first of all that notes, in spite of their marginality, condense the problems connected with the textual reconstruction of a work whose genesis and publication were particulary complicated; secondly that they resume not only the principal subjects of the Mémoires but also their characteristic formal aspects.
