Abstract

«Morire a torto».

This paper puts forward a new reading of the collection consisting of texts assembled in Riccardiano 2908 in connection with the destination, use and coherence of the selection made. All the testimony focussing on the image of the sea as the rhetorical figure of the Saeculum (Ovid, Augustine, Alano of Lille, the Roman de Tristan, Dante and Brunetto) leads us to think that the marine metaphor used was directly connected with the theme of exile.
